The DAIS [IB / ICSE / CBSE 37161 SQ.M] plans to expand its campus facilities at BKC to an adjoining plot on its North East side measuring 4300 SQ.M. The new school building will house an auditorium, multipurpose hall, an indoor swimming pool in additional to the classrooms, labs and library facility. To consume the entire FSI, the building becomes a sixteen storied tower. Unlike a conventional school which is a low rise spread out facility, the challenge here is to deal with a school which has a facilities stacked one above the other.

To deal with this unique condition, the office and auditorium are located on the ground floor so as to restrict the public movement in the building and also to allow spill over from the auditorium onto the open recreational ground. The students get off the school bus at the basement level and take the elevators to the assembly area which is also the service floor on the second floor. The indoor swimming pool is located above the service floor. The classrooms are located between fourth to eight floors with the canteen on the sixth floor. The library, exam hall and labs occupy the floors above the classroom level. The double height multipurpose hall with column free spaces is placed at the top fourteen and fifteen with an activity room below it to act as a buffer between the sports arena and labs below. The chairmans office occupies the topmost floor.
