Client:  M/s. MCGM
Site: Malabar Hill
Area: Street from Teenbatti to Kemps Corner with elements in Sir PM Garden & Kamla Nehru Park.
Year: 2006 – 2011

The Malabar Hill residents association chaired by Mrs. Anita Garware approached us to upgrade the Malabar Hill precinct. The association was extremely concerned that the stepped pathways leading from the top of the hill to its base, which serve as pedestrian short cuts were being encroached upon by rogue elements. They had decided to upgrade the physical construct of these pathways, provide adequate lighting and encourage more people to use it. They also wanted to upgrade the entire stretch from Teen Batti junction to Kemps Corner.

The project turned into a joint initiative of the local residents association and the MCGM. Along with the two gardens Sir Pheroze Shah Mehta Garden and Kamala Nehru Park at Malabar Hill. The brief included the entire road stretch from Teen Batti junction to Kemps Corner.

The parks are spread over a large area in the heart of the city and it was imperative that this green lung was protected and nurtured.
